Postdoctoral Research Associate

Radiation Laboratory, University of Notre Dame

The Notre Dame Radiation Laboratory, a world-renowned center for study of radiation chemistry, has a potential postdoctoral opening for an experimental scientist. Our interdisciplinary team of chemists and physicists probe the basic science underpinning the effects of radiation across a broad range of non-medical applications, including, for example, nuclear power generation, high-energy materials characterization, and industrial processing. This postdoctoral position is for an experimental radiation chemist. Topics of current interest include fast kinetics measurements of radical reactions in supercritical fluids and spectroscopic characterization of the host media and participating transients, along with investigations into the radiation stability of aqueous systems, liquid hydrocarbons and plastics to better understand their long-term stability in applications pertinent to the nuclear power industry. This appointment would be for one year in the first instance, with the possibility of renewal.

Interested candidates, please submit your CV to Laura.Mortlock@nd.edu.
